Today, the outstanding debts in the electricity market make up approximately UAH 53 billion

While there has been a decrease from last December’s UAH 60 billion to the current range of UAH 52-53 billion, debts in the balancing market have surged.

Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, Chairman of the Board of NEC Ukrenergo, disclosed these figures during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.

“The total amount of debts in the electricity market has seen a slight decrease. In December, we reported debts of 60 billion hryvnias. Now, the latest data indicates a total debt of approximately 52-53 billion hryvnias. This reduction is attributed to partial payments for transmission and dispatching, along with the contribution of two tariffs paid by businesses, not household consumers, to Ukrenergo for electricity transmission and power system management,” Kudrytskyi stated. “Unfortunately, debts in the balancing market have continued to climb and currently exceed 31 billion hryvnias,” he added.
