This year, book prices in Ukraine may increase by 20-25% – publisher
This year, prices on Ukraine’s book market may rise by another 20-25%.
Oleksandr Krasovytskyy, writer, Editor in Chief of Folio Publishers, made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.
“I predict that this year we will see a 20-25% increase in book prices on the book market,” he said.
The prices will be affected, in particular, by the growth of military production in the world, as well as the situation in Yemen, which, in addition to the price, will also affect the terms of paper delivery.
“Also, what is happening in Yemen means that huge ships that go from Asia to Europe with either books printed for Western publishers in Asia, or with paper from Indonesia, or, say, from China, are now going around Africa. And this increases price by a huge amount of money and delivery time by 3-4 months as well,” explained Oleksandr Krasovytskyy.
