Support for Ukrainian culture was palpable in New York, as the performance of the Ukrainian music in Carnegie Hall became a success.

Keri-Lynn Wilson, Canadian conductor of Ukrainian origin, made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.

She emphasized her unwavering stance during the preparation for the performance, insisting that only Ukrainian music would be played on the main stage in New York.

“When I was asked what the repertoire would be, I said that it would be exclusively Ukrainian, we would play only Ukrainian music. And it’s so nice for the public, for me, to listen to Ukrainian music,” she said.

In addition, Bogdana Pivnenko, General Director of the National Ensemble of Soloists “Kyiv Camerata,” pointed out that the concert felt like a reliable rear. In addition there was a feeling that the show would be a success, thanks in particular to Keri-Lynn Wilson.

“They are trying to erase us, they are trying to show that we do not exist, or that we are part of the russian empire, the soviet union, yet our daily actions prove that we exist, and that we have a rich culture, traditions and, particularly, music,” Bogdana Pivnenko noted.

It should be noted that Keri-Lynn Wilson, a Canadian conductor of Ukrainian origin, began her career almost thirty years ago. During this time, she performed at the Royal Opera House, the Bavarian State Opera, and the Metropolitan Opera.
