“The year will be difficult, but parliamentary diplomacy is ready: we will continue to convince countries to provide weapons and funding,” Oleksandr Merezhko
2023 will be a difficult year for Ukraine’s parliamentary diplomacy, but there is a readiness to continue efficient cooperation with other countries for the sake of the victory. Oleksandr Merezhko, Head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Foreign Policy and Interparliamentary Cooperation made this statement at a briefing at Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.
“It will be a difficult year. We understand this, parliamentary diplomacy is ready for this. All our efforts must be aimed at one common goal — the victory. For this we, first of all, need weapons. We must continue to convince countries to provide more and more modern weapons: tanks, long-range artillery, military aircraft. This should be our top priority, and we will continue to do so. The second issue is continuing and increasing the level of funding, providing financial and economic assistance to Ukraine. This is also an issue that depends on the parliaments of other countries. We will work to this end as well,” — Merezhko said.
