On Monday, November 20, Yevhen Vasylenko, the spokesman of the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region, spoke about the operational situation that developed in the Kharkiv region in the period from November 13 to 19, 2023.

Over the past week, the rescuers of the Kharkiv garrison made 101 trips under the “Alarm” signal, four of which were related to the hostilities in the region. In another 56 cases, the State Emergency Service employees went to road accidents to help the population and eliminate the consequences of enemy shelling.

Over the past week, 479 explosive objects have been defused by sappers of the State Emergency Service.

33 squads of employees of the State Emergency Service and 70 units of equipment, which are part of the joint detachment of the State Emergency Service, continued to inspect and demine the de-occupied and affected by the full-scale russian invasion of the territory of the Kharkiv region. Since the beginning of the “great” war, they have surveyed more than four thousand hectares of territory, about three thousand kilometers of power lines, and almost four thousand households, discovered and neutralized more than 84 thousand ammunition and other dangerous objects.

According to Yevhen Vasylenko, in the period from November 12 to 19, two civilians were injured, and one died as a result of detonation using unknown explosive devices.

“On November 14 in the village of Hryhorivka, Izyum district, a car was blown up by an unknown object. A man born in 1990, who was in it, died, and another received numerous injuries. The victim was hospitalized by the emergency medical team. November 15 in a field near the village Sorokivka (Kharkiv district) a 42-year-old man was blown up by an enemy mine. As a result of the explosion, he lost a leg,” the speaker said.

In addition, the spokesman of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region noted that several fires and destructions related to enemy shelling occurred in the region over the past week. In particular, on November 17, russian terrorists attacked the village of Borova, Izyum district, with a guided aerial bomb. The building of the fire department and two units of emergency services were damaged. There were no injured personnel.

Due to violations of fire safety rules, the number of household fires in the region has increased. Unfortunately, one person died in the fire, and several people were hospitalized with burns and signs of carbon monoxide poisoning.

“The Department of State Emergency Services in the Kharkiv region calls on all residents of the region to observe fire safety rules. Monitor the condition and serviceability of the electrical network and electrical appliances, do not leave them switched on without supervision. Do not use low-quality, self-made, and uncertified household electrical appliances! Supervise children and do not let them play with matches, lighters, and other dangerous objects. Try to avoid overloading electrical networks. Also, take care to protect the home when using stove and gas heating,” Mr. Vasylenko said at the end of the speech.
