The Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform hosted a press conference, “The Heavenly Hundred — the first heroes of the Russian-Ukrainian war”. The program of events dedicated to the Day of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred, celebrated on February 20, was presented. Oleksandr Tkachenko, Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, spoke about the utmost importance of the topic at this very moment.
“It is critical to remember where it all began, especially during the war. It was the first battle of the Russian-Ukrainian war: a battle for our values, European values, and freedom. Honoring the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred and the narratives Maidan laid the groundwork for at that time, alongside its victory. All of the above is a thorn in the flesh of Russian authoritarian leaders. I am glad that both the Institute of National Remembrance and the National Memorial Complex of Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred — Museum of the Revolution of Dignity have prepared several events to remind us not to forget about our victories in this confrontation,” the minister noted.
