The head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, spoke about the operational situation in the Kharkiv region

According to the speaker, the enemy continues to shell the civilian infrastructure of the region. On the day before the briefing, russian terrorists attacked the border and front-line settlements of the region 16 times.

“There is an increase in shelling of Vovchansk, where about 3.5 thousand people remain, and its area. Over the past day, ten households and one administrative building were damaged as a result of the attacks. In addition, the settlement of Udy, Bohodukhiv district, was shelled from the territory of the russian federation,” Oleh Syniehubov said.

According to the head of the region, the Kupyansk direction remains the most difficult. Kivsharivka was shelled the day before. The enemy hit it with a guided aerial bomb. High-rise buildings and an educational facility were damaged.

The forced evacuation of families with children from three front-line communities of the Kupyansk district has ended. However, the authorities are considering several settlements, particularly Kupyansk city, where an evacuation will be announced, which is currently recommended, and will later be mandatory.

“According to our information, there are 525 children here. We are waiting for the decision of the local authorities. Then we will bring this issue to the Defense Council,” said Mr. Syniehubov.

He also noted that there have been recorded cases when people try to return to their native homes, from where they were evacuated, despite the existing danger to life.

“As for Kupyansk: the evacuation is preventive. There is no complication in the operational situation in this direction. In addition, we must continue to strengthen our fortifications, some of which are located directly in the city, in residential areas. Therefore, we do not want to endanger residents if the enemy discovers such positions and increases shelling,” said the official.

The russians continue to storm Ukrainian positions in the area of Sinkivka and Petropavlivka settlements. But the Defense Forces hold the defense in this direction, inflicting significant losses in manpower and equipment on the enemy.

Mr. Syniehubov emphasized that neither the location of Ukrainian units nor the number of occupied settlements has changed recently:

“The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, visited the command post in Kupyansk to personally check the state of the operational situation and talk to the military personnel who are defending it.”

In the Borova direction, the situation remains volatile but fully controlled. The enemy considers this direction as one of the priorities for the offensive. But the offensive actions of the russian troops here are not as active as in Kupyansk.

“However, the situation here can change at any moment, as we observe the movement of russian assault units and heavily armored vehicles here. Therefore, here we are also working on strengthening fortifications, etc.,” the head of the region said.

The situation remains difficult in the Dvorichna community, near which active hostilities are taking place.

The demining of the liberated territories of the Kharkiv region affected by russian aggression continues.

“With worsening weather conditions, this process slows down a bit, as the protocol prohibits large-scale demining. With the fall of snow, the services will switch to operational and individual demining. However, two demining vehicles we purchased will be useful here, as they allow working in any weather conditions,” said the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.

Oleh Syniehubov also said that KhOVA is launching a new project: a chatbot in the Telegram channel:

“It will be possible to contact the head of the regional administration with any statement about an emergency, manifestations of corruption, or abuse of power by officials, with mandatory feedback. Relevant departments will consider these applications and will respond to each of them accordingly.”
