“Swedish government already provided Ukraine with aid worth almost EUR 400 million and is ready to support our country in the future,” Ukraine’s Ambassador to Sweden

The total amount of aid that Sweden has allocated to Ukraine since February 24 is worth SEK 4.2 million, or about EUR 395 million, Andrii Plakhotniuk, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Kingdom of Sweden said at a briefing at Media Center Ukraine. According to him, the aid covered the following directions — military, financial, economic and social.

“In terms of the military aid, the following directions can be identified: direct military supplies, training of our servicemen and production of defense equipment for the needs of Ukraine by Swedish companies,” — Andrii Plakhotniuk said.

According to him, the Swedish government planned for the changes to the budget worth another SEK 10 billion, which is, about EUR 1 billion, to address the urgent needs of Ukrainians in Sweden. Currently, there are 42,000 Ukrainians in the country who left their homes because of the war. Among them 13,000 are children.

“The Swedes’ attitude towards Ukraine is full support and full solidarity. They believe in our victory, at all levels they declare that they are ready to help Ukraine as much as needed,” — the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Sweden said.
