“We will work in winter. The only problem is snow,” volunteers of the project “On the shield” about the search for fallen soldiers.

Leonid Ignatiev, head of the Public Organization “Military Historical Center “Memory and Glory”, a participant in the humanitarian project of the Armed Forces “On the Shield”, stated this during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine-Odesa.

“One can work in winter. The only problem is the snow, because sappers can’t work there, because there are a lot of improvised explosive devices. But if it is demined, it is possible to work in such conditions,” said the volunteer.

“Searchers are enthusiasts who consciously engage in quite specific activities. Every soldier should be found, identified and buried, and should not lie in the ground and be considered missing in action,” added Leonid Ignatiev’s deputy Serhii Sudnyk.

The NGO “Military Historical Center “Memory and Glory” has been working as part of the humanitarian project of the Armed Forces “On the Shield” for almost six months. The search groups worked in Kyiv, Kherson, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, and Donetsk oblast.
