The “Dity Heroiv”(Children of Heroes) Foundation currently cares for more than 3,000 children of fallen Ukrainian soldiers and civilians

In January 2023 alone, more than 1,000 children joined the charity. Valeria Abdal, co-founder of the “Dity Heroiv”(Children of Heroes) charitable foundation, told about this during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Odesa.

“The number of children has increased greatly, now we care for more than 3,000 children. And just in the last month, more than 1,000 children who lost their parents joined us. This is a terrible statistic,” Valeria Abdal said.

As the volunteer noted, one of the main directions of the foundation’s work is psychological support for children.

“Each family that comes to us has an assistant. In January 2023, seven psychologists worked in the fund. But in January alone, we received 107 applications, and that is why we are now increasing the team,” Marta Bilyk, psychotherapist, psychologist of the “Dity Heroiv”(Children of Heroes) charitable foundation said.

“We cooperate with the psychological camp of Gen. Ukrainian, who works under the patronage of the first lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska. It is now in Spain. A certain number of children have already gone there, spent there three weeks, and qualified specialists worked with them. The children returning from the camp changed before their eyes,” Valeria Abdal said.

The volunteer also added that the fund opened a collection for psychological support of children cared for by volunteers. The goal is to raise $50,000.
