People Continue to Leave the Kherson Region: on Saturday, More Than 150 People Were Evacuated, and More Than 250 on Sunday — the Oblast Council
Although a large number of people wanted to return to the Kherson region after de-occupation, now there is a tendency to leave. Yurii Sobolevskyi, First Deputy Head of Kherson Oblast Council, made this statement during the briefing at the Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.
“After the de-occupation of the right-bank part of the Kherson region, a very large number of our people wanted to return, despite the risks. All of us, both representatives of local authorities and military administrations, constantly appealed that it is too early to do this, because the safety situation is very difficult. Now there is a tendency for people to leave, agree to voluntary temporary evacuation. Yesterday more than 250 people left, and 150 the day before yesterday. This is crude data. But we can only see people who agreed to voluntary evacuation and turned to the military administration for help. They also leave on their own: we do not see this until these people come to another region and register as IDPs there,” Yurii Sobolevskyi explained.
