“Peak days of shelling in Kherson region saw 120 attacks per day, of which 40 — in the city, the correct decision now is to evacuate,” Oblast Council
Based on the security situation in Kherson and the region, the right decision for the residents at the moment is a temporary voluntary evacuation. Yurii Sobolevskyi, First Deputy Head of Kherson Oblast Council made this statement at a briefing at Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.
“In Kherson, living conditions are relatively comfortable, but the situation is not safe: there are constant attacks, and explosions are constantly heard. In the peak anti-record days, we had 120 attacks per day, more than 40 of them in Kherson. In these conditions, it is difficult to keep calm and live a full life. But our people are really indomitable, so life goes on. I emphasize once again: now the right decision is a voluntary evacuation, it is a temporary departure from Kherson and other communities near the Dnipro, because the danger is immense. Later everyone will return, everything will be great, everything will be rebuilt. Now the best decision is to leave. 55,000-60,000 people remain in Kherson out of 320,000-330,000 before the start of the war. People leave every day. The evacuation continues: we have 50 to 100 people leaving every day. A certain number also leave on their own,” — Sobolevskyi said.
