Over past day, occupiers shell Kherson and right-bank part of the region 57 times; one person injured — Khlan

The enemy continues constant shelling of Kherson and the de-occupied part of Kherson region. They are attacking residential areas, infrastructure, and hospitals. Serhii Khlan, Deputy of Kherson Oblast Council made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.

“Over the past day, the occupiers shelled the city of Kherson and the right-bank part of Kherson region 57 times, one person was injured. This morning explosions can once again be heard in Kherson. The occupiers are chaotically targeting the whole city. Hospitals were hit: the children’s ward, the maternity ward, Beryslav district hospital. There is very serious damage to these facilities. Energy infrastructure, residential areas and high-rise buildings were also shelled. Work is ongoing to eliminate these damages and resettle people,” — Khlan said.

The deputy added that the enemy shelling is often conducted from residential areas.

“The occupiers are shelling Beryslav and the right bank of Kherson region with multiple rocket launchers, which are located right in the middle of residential blocks and high-rise buildings, in order to hide behind the civilian infrastructure as a human shield, so that our armed forces could not provide an appropriate response. This is exactly what the occupiers are doing in Hola Prystan, shelling the city of Kherson directly from residential quarters,” — Khlan said.
