Only 10% of Georgians have a good attitude towards russians – a Georgian political scientist

And the russians who ran away from the mobilization to Georgia have no influence on public opinion. This opinion was expressed by Bakur Kvashilava, professor of international relations and politics at the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs, during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Odesa.

“The majority of the population of Georgia does not accept the Russians, they believe that they can be the 5th column. They are tolerated, but not perceived as friends. Perhaps only 10% of Georgians treat them well because of the Soviet past, but the majority see them as a threat and an undesirable element,” the political scientist noted.

He also added that during protests against the draft law on foreign agents, young people called some members of the Georgian parliament “russians”. “This word is already perceived as swearing, but of course, it does not apply to the nation as a whole,” – Kvashilava noted.
