Odesa’s restaurateurs send more than 500-600 dehydrated food kits to the frontline every week

There are borscht, buckwheat oatmeal with chicken, buckwheat oatmeal with vegetables, barley porridge, banash, veggie soup in the menu. Olga Belenko, entrepreneur, restaurateur, founder of the “Peremoga.UA” Charitable Foundation, spoke about this during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Odesa.

As Olga Belenko said, restaurateurs make all dishes from natural products, without adding preservatives. And we will get such a result – dehydrated food, which we pack in bags of 100 grams, and the weight of the dish when cooked is 350 grams. The menu includes borscht, buckwheat oatmeal with chicken, buckwheat oatmeal with vegetables, barley oatmeal, banash, vegetable soup. We are constantly working on increasing the assortment,” – the restaurateur said.

As Olga Belenko pointed out, the cost of one portion of borscht is only 26 hryvnias(0.7 USD) – this amount includes both the cost of products and the work of cooks.

“Now every week we send 500–600 portions to the front for our military. But we want to increase this number. So we are currently looking for sponsors who could provide us with ingredients. Also, we plan to sell these dishes, and with the earned money buy products for this project,” – the restaurateur said.

As she noted, one of the main advantages of such dehydrated food is the speed of cooking.

“To make ordinary borscht, you need about 45 minutes. It is enough to pour boiling water over our dish and wait 10 minutes. Therefore, it is convenient not only for the military, but also for people who live in dangerous areas. These dishes can be prepared simply in the basement,” – Olga Belenko said.
