Foreign and Internal Debts of Ukraine Have Reached USD 103 Billion; an Increase Is Only 5% in Less Than a Year — Member of NBU Board

The total debt of Ukraine has increased by only 5% in less than a year, despite the economic crisis and the war in the country. Vasyl Furman, Member of NBU Board, told this during the briefing in Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.

“As of today, the amount of government and grant debt of our state in dollar terms makes 103 billion. If one looks at the debt of our state as of January 1, it is somewhere around USD 98 billion. That is, it has increased by only 5% during a fraction of this year. Dynamics are important. If one looks at the debt that our state had in 2017, it was about USD 76 billion. And if we compare today’s 103 billion and those 76.3 billion, this is an increase by 35%. But then again, these are the 5-years’ dynamics,” Vasyl Furman explained.
