Andrii Ivko, Deputy Head of Ukravtodor State Agency of Automobile Roads of Ukraine spoke about this during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.

“At the beginning of the aggression, we mounted (anti-tank) hedgehogs, set up roadblocks, and dismantled road signs to confuse the enemy. And so it turned out: when they entered Kyiv, Chernihiv, and Sumy oblasts, they did not understand where they were. When we realized this, we gave the order to dismantle all the signs throughout all cities. Concerned citizens, contractor organizations, and united territorial communities joined in. We literally dismantled almost all the signs within 1-2 days,” — Ivko said.
