4,500 educators, scientists, and students asked the Ministry of Education and Science to facilitate going abroad

This was announced by the head of the ministry, Serhii Shkarlet, during a briefing at the Ukraine-Odesa Media Center

“But we do not issue permits for travel abroad, the state border service does this. We provide recommendations, I don’t know of a single case when we did not support the departure of scientists, students, and teachers for all international programs in which we participate,” said Serhii Shkarlet.

Among this enquiries there were 1,472 students aged 16 to 60 who appealed to the ministry to help them leave. “These were “students” of universities that were established in Poland and the Czech Republic 3 days prior to enquiry to leave Ukraine and were located in ordinary apartments. And this question is not for us, but for the law enforcement officers,” the minister added.
