1125 settlements in Kyiv region without power following missile strike, police beef up security

After the rocket attack on November 23, 1,125 settlements in Kyiv region were left without power. In order to ensure the safety of citizens, the police increased patrolling. Andrii Nebytov, Head of Kyiv Oblast Police made this statement at a briefing at Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.

“As of yesterday, 1,125 settlements on the territory of Kyiv region remained without electricity. But our power engineers worked around the clock and every hour the supply was restored to various settlements. The National Police has doubled the number of both foot and car patrols. This makes it possible to deter crime and ensure the safety of citizens,” — Nebytov explained.

The Head of Kyiv Oblast Police noted that the total number of patrols was increased from 350 to 600. “Points of invincibility” were also deployed, where people can get hot food, warm up, access the Internet, charge gadgets, and contact loved ones. Police officers are on duty at each point ensuring law and order, providing information and any assistance.

“I would like to point out that on the territory of Kyiv region, all departments, offices or police directorates work in autonomous mode. We took care of energy independence, we have generators, there is a separate water supply. That’s why citizens can also use our administrative buildings for any kind of help — to get warm, get hot drinks, access the Internet, charge gadgets,” — Nebytov said.
