100 Ukrainian companies are licensed to manufacture prostheses

They also provide a one-year service warranty. Vitaly Koltsov, director of the Odesa regional branch of the Fund for Social Protection of Persons with Disabilities, told about this during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Odesa.

He noted that military personnel who need prosthetics can get these services at any enterprise in Ukraine.

“I want to note that our prostheses are no worse than foreign prostheses, because they are made of foreign materials and components. In addition, the advantage of our prosthetics is that the military has the right to free warranty service for one year,” the official said.

As Tetyana Rud, a specialist in the medical department of the Odesa State Experimental Prosthetic and Orthopedic Enterprise, said, this enterprise is the largest in the south of Ukraine and can accommodate up to 40 people at the same time.

Andriy Belozyorov, a leading specialist in prosthetics and orthotics of the Odesa State Experimental Prosthetic and Orthopedic Enterprise, added that the enterprise can even manufacture prostheses that will allow a soldier to return to the front.

“The first prosthesis is very important so that a person gets used to it. Our company has a primary prosthetics clinic. This is very important, because a person has to learn to walk on a prosthesis. For this, we have paths with different surfaces. And until we see that a person walks independently on a prosthesis, it is with us,” – the specialist added.
