Since start of full-scale invasion, 607 criminal proceedings opened against licensees of Shliakh system, 122 business entities deprived of access to the system – State Border Guard Service
One of the most widespread illegal schemes for smuggling citizens liable for military service across the border is realized via entering the data into the Shliakh system of the State Service of Ukraine for Transport Safety. The investigation of the licensees of the system revealed violations, in particular, there were cases when persons employed by a certain company have left never to return to the territory of Ukraine. Criminal proceedings have been opened into these violations, and access to the system has been suspended for a number of business entities.
Yurii Kovalchuk, Head of the Department for Combating Cross-Border Crime of the Administration of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.
“Since the beginning of full-scale aggression, we have initiated 607 criminal proceedings against such licensees – 50 last year, the rest — this year. And we periodically inform the Ministry of Infrastructure and the State Service of Ukraine for Transport Safety itself about such violations. Having established such effective collaboration, access to the Shliakh system was terminated for 122 business entities upon the initiative of the State Border Guard Service. In other words, access to the system is limited to such licensees, and in fact they cannot engage in international transportation anymore,” Yurii Kovalchuk said.
