Scythian gold, Aivazovsky’s paintings, museum exhibits – Ivan Fedorov says, occupiers steal from museums of Zaporizhia region

The occupiers took museum exhibits from Melitopol-based Kamyana Mohyla (Stone Grave), the Melitopol Museum of Local History and the Berdyansk Museum to temporarily occupied Crimea.

Ivan Fedorov, Mayor of Melitopol, made this statement at a briefing at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.

“Yes, from Kamyana Mohyla, these are the artifacts that were in the museum, from the Melitopol Museum – the Scythian gold, and from the Berdyansk Museum – paintings, the originals by Aivazovsky. All of them have been taken out. And the fact that they are being shown today on the territory of temporarily occupied Crimea does not necessarily mean that they will stay there for a long time. I am sure that the enemy will continue to steal all our property from the temporarily occupied territories, including exhibits from museums.”
