After the beginning of russia’s large-scale armed aggression against Ukraine, the Parliament considered and approved amendments to the Criminal Code of Ukraine in a shortened procedure. They established responsibility for cooperation with the occupation authorities.

These changes were primarily aimed at preventing Ukrainian citizens from cooperating with the occupation authorities in the territories. Therefore, a wide range of actions of various actors were criminalized, which led to a significant number of criminal proceedings.
