Russian cereal grains exports dominate the European market, surpassing Ukraine’s threefold – Ukraine’s Vice President of the Association of International Road Carriers
Russia’s cereal grains production export to the European Union is three times the Ukraine’s, in particular, in transit through Poland.
Volodymyr Balin, Vice President of the Association of International Road Carriers of Ukraine made this statement at a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.
“It’s now official, corroborated by the Ukrainian Embassy in Poland, that Russian cereal grain outstrips Ukrainian grain exports to the European market by threefold. This includes transit supply through Poland to the European Union and other countries, as well as direct shipments to Poland. The focus on Ukrainian cereal grain seems to be a politically motivated question. Delving deeper, one can discern the underlying economic issue and all the events resulting from it, that have once again unfolded on the border,” explained Volodymyr Balin.
As a reminder, on February 9, Polish farmers staged protests with a blockade of Polish-Ukrainian border roads. Taking to the Polish streets, protesting farmers caused traffic jams at three border checkpoints.
