russia lacks forces in belarus to launch an invasion into Ukraine – Andrii Demchenko
At present, russia is short on sufficient forces in belarus to launch an invasion into Ukraine.
Andrii Demchenko, spokesperson for the Ukrainian State Border Guard Service, made this assertion during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.
“On the opposite side of the border, russia lacks the necessary forces to mount an invasion into Ukraine territory. It’s worth noting that russia’s military presence in belarus has diminished, with units previously stationed there for training gradually returning to russian territory without replacements as part of regular rotations,” he explained.
Andrii Demchenko stated that there are still some russian military personnel present in Belarus, primarily serving logistical functions related to military gear. However, he emphasized that they do not consist of strike forces or combat units that could present a threat.
