russia attacks Odesa with kamikaze drones 5 times in recent days — Odesa Oblast Military Administration

russia has been using Shahid-136 kamikaze drones in Odesa for several days now. However, the enemy renamed them “Geran 2.” In recent days there have been 5 attacks on the city. The enemy is trying to use its cruise missiles sparingly, because these drones can be used much more often. The much cheaper kamikaze drones are used more than one at a time. The enemy has been noted to launch several of them at once during a single attack.

Serhii Bratchuk, Chair of the Public Council under Odesa Oblast Military Administration, Spokesperson for Odesa Oblast Military Administration made this statement at Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.

The first attacks were on port areas, and the night attacks were on military infrastructure objects: “There were two hits, (we) managed to destroy one drone, but there was also a detonation on the territory of this object. The rescue operation is being completed, fortunately, there were no casualties,” — he said.

All kamikaze drones that flew over the city were destroyed by air defense forces.

“As for these drones, it is difficult to find them in the airspace. They can be heard in the air when they are already over the city and people have a few minutes to take shelter. Since the drone has a great explosive power, the fragments fly a long distance. These questions have already been worked out today. In Odesa, one can hide from them even in the arches of old buildings. Especially since such attacks occur only in pairs,” — Serhii Bratchuk said.

The enemy is trying to use new tactics, but Ukrainian specialists are working to counter them.
