Rising prices are one of russians’ biggest problems and the kremlin’s main trigger – Research findings

The main issue that concerns russians today is rising prices, with two-thirds of the population considering it to be their biggest problem. At the same time, this issue is the main challenge for the kremlin’s ideological agenda.

Political analyst Vadym Denysenko shared these findings during a presentation at the Media Center Ukraine.

“What are the problems that worry russians the most? As usual, rising prices come first – 62%. This means that two-thirds of the population consider rising prices to be their biggest problem. The continuation of the ‘special military operation’ follows with 48%. High interest rates on loans are cited by 37%, which is related to the issue of rising prices. The high cost of medicines is cited by 34%, while concerns about migrants and corruption are cited by 30% each. In addition, 22% of respondents cited poor food quality as a major problem,” he explained.

According to Denysenko, economic instability is the kremlin’s biggest trigger.

“Price increases, inflation and everything related to the consumer basket are the main problems for the kremlin’s ideological bloc. And they have no idea how to deal with it. We can say with certainty that they neither know nor will figure out how to tackle this problem,” he added.

It is worth noting that this survey was conducted via telephone in russia, encompassing 1,200 respondents.
