Reports relating a risk of a powerful earthquake in Kyiv are aiming the goal to spread panic among the population — SES

There have been reports of the need to beware of an earthquake in Kyiv and Ukraine, spreading on social media. Volodymyr Demchuk, Director of the Emergency Response Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, Major-General of Civil Protection Service commented on the information during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.

“The main purpose of these statements is to spread panic among the people. There are some risks. However, it is minor to those in Turkey. Therefore, we cannot say that an earthquake of this magnitude threatens Ukraine. And there are experts to confirm this,” — said Demchuk.
