Radio Dictation of National Unity: winners announced
This year, the Radio Dictation of National Unity was written without a single mistake by two participants – a teacher of Ukrainian language and literature from Volyn and a woman from Lviv, who has already entered the Book of Records of Ukraine as a permanent participant of the Radio Dictation.
This was discussed during the announcement of the results of the Radio Dictation of National Unity – 2023 at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.
According to Dmytro Khorkin, Member of the Board of Suspilne Public Broadcasting Company of Ukraine, this year’s winners of the Radio Dictation are two people – Halyna Shura, a teacher of Ukrainian language and literature at the Komarivka Gymnasium, Volyn region, and Khrystyna Hoianiuk, a regular participant of the Radio Dictation from Lviv.
In addition, five people wrote the Radio Dictation with only one mistake. These are Olesia Zhu, Yevhenia Antoniuk, Viktoria Norichka, Ivanna Ruban and Yuliia Shevchenko.
It is worth noting that, traditionally, the Radio Dictation of National Unity takes place on the Day of Ukrainian Literature and Language. However, for the second year in a row, it took place amidst the full-scale war. Despite this, every year the number of participants only expands.
During the discussion, it was noted that letters with the dictation came from 39 countries of the world, including russia and Belarus.
Citizens of the temporarily occupied territory and Ukrainian military personnel at the front also wrote the Radio Dictation. Large businesses and corporations participated in the event as well.
According to Yulia Sheludko, Executive Producer of Ukrainian Radio and Project Coordinator of the Radio Dictation of National Unity, almost 20,000 people sent the text of the dictation for review, in particular, there were about 3,000 paper letters, the rest were electronic.
In turn, Olena Masalitina, Head of the Commission reviewing the Radio Dictation, reported that the youngest participant in this year’s dictation was 8 years old, and the oldest participant was 90 years old.
