Polish-Ukrainian border unblocked, 2600 trucks have crossed the border – State Border Guard Service of Ukraine
Poland left blockades at Rava-Ruska-Hrebenne, Yahodyn-Dorohusk, Krakivets-Korczowa, Shehyni-Medyka crossings as of today. Border truck traffic flows again and is quite intense. It’s actually returning to more normal levels in all directions, it was before the blockade started.
Andrii Demchenko, Spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, said this during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.
“It is noteworthy that during the blockade on the territory of Poland, the smallest number of trucks were allowed to cross the border in both directions as Yahodyn border crossing—the largest infrastructure direction was unblocked for some time. However, yesterday’s report shows that more than 1,100 trucks have made it through this direction. In total, 2600 trucks were stuck at once blocked routes crossed the border in both directions yesterday,” he said.
At the same time, according to Andrii Demchenko, there are still vehicles queuing to enter Poland from the Ukrainian side. However, there is a border queue management service operating in Ukraine, so there is no need to clog up the border with physical lines, instead, the system will give each driver a notice of when it’s the right time to cross.
As for the territory of Poland, the SBGS spokesperson noted that as of the morning, there were about 1,200 trucks queuing opposite the Shehyni crossing.
“But considering the current intensity, which we recorded as of yesterday, it’ll take much less time for drivers to stand than they did during the blocked roads in all four directions,” added Andrii Demchenko.
