Parliament adopts draft law on declassification of defense procurement: the public has been given back the opportunity to control — Venislavskyi

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine continues to work towards better legislation in defense procurement. Fedir Venislavskyi, People’s Deputy of Ukraine, Member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, Presidential Representative to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine made this statement during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.

“Yesterday, the parliament passed the first reading of quite an important bill on the declassification of defense procurement. Regarding purchases worth more than 200 thousand UAH and guaranteed purchases for defense needs — valued over 1.5 million UAH. Such information should be made publicly available after the relevant purchases, using no electronic trading platforms. The opportunity for the public to monitor the defense procurement is restored exactly in such amounts and areas, that is to ensure the utmost transparency,” — said Venislavskyi.
