Over 2,000 trucks blocked at Polish border – AsMAP UA Vice President
Currently, there are reports that protests resulted in about over two thousand trucks blocked at the border with Poland.
Volodymyr Balin, Vice President of the Association of International Road Carriers of Ukraine (AsMAP UA) made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.
“If we take the Polish side, then more than 2,000 (trucks are blocked – Ed.). Yesterday morning there were 2,100. Unfortunately, there is no official information on how many people are in queues at the “Uzhhorod – Vyšné Nemecké” and “Chop – Záhony” checkpoints, because a lot of cars have queued up there as well. That’s because some vehicles took a detour, and the capacity at the checkpoints there is smaller than, for example, at “Yahodyn – Dorohusk.” There is a queue, there is a problem, and today everyone is experiencing this problem – carriers, exporters, and importers,” he said.
According to Volodymyr Balin, despite the blockade of truck traffic, passenger transport is allowed through. As for humanitarian goods, he added, there was no information regarding restrictions in recent days.
