Over 160 thousand Ukrainian refugees are currently settled in the UK, and over 200 thousand visas have been issued, 42% have already been employed — Prystaiko

Some Ukrainians who received British visas during the full-scale war have not come to the country for a temporary stay, but they can still do it. Vadym Prystaiko, Ukraine’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the United Kingdom, made this statement during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.

“More than 160,000 of our compatriots are now in the UK, with just over 200,000 visas issued. This means that some of our compatriots have received permission but have taken advantage of the UK’s hospitality. There is nothing inherently wrong with it; they can make this decision later. All the services required for a comfortable residence of Ukrainians are available. People have access to free healthcare, children go to school, there are many free education programs, even at such prominent universities as Oxford. 42% of Ukrainians have already found temporary jobs so that they do not depend on British taxpayers and can earn their own money,” said Mr. Ambassador.
