One third of Ukraine’s ecosystems is damaged, it has direct impact on the continent’s climate: half of European rivers may dry up – WWF-Ukraine

As one of the largest countries of the European continent, Ukraine directly affects climate change – and the situation can get significantly worse because of the war – Bohdan Vykhor, Executive Director at WWF-Ukraine made this statement during the briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.

“When it comes to the role the Ukraine’s natural ecosystems play in stabilizing climate change – wetlands, Ramsar sites no longer perform its ecosystem functions. As a result, this has a direct impact on the climate. Ukraine is one of the biggest European countries.
