One of the priority tasks of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine after de-occupation is to return people’s access to Ukrainian media on the liberated territories of Kherson and Mykolaiv regions in all possible ways. Taras Shevchenko, Deputy Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, made this report during the briefing in Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform. He noted that the Ministry will rely on its experience of work in the previously liberated territories.
“Due to the fact that frequently, at the time of liberation, there is a problem with electricity and the Internet access, the quickest and primary way to provide information is print media outlets. Accordingly, in the Kharkiv region, publication of two newspapers was arranged, as a first step, from the first weeks of liberation,” Taras Shevchenko explained.
He added that even before the restoration of electricity access people had the opportunity to get up-to-date information.
“One of the main tasks is dealing with people’s awareness,” Taras Shevchenko said.
