“My Message to the Ukrainian People: the European Union Is with You, and Your Place Is with Us,” Věra Jourová, Vice President of the European Commission for Values and Transparency, Says

The European Union as a whole and member states of the EU are fully ready to continue the support for Ukraine. Věra Jourová, Vice President of the European Commission for Values and Transparency, stated this during her briefing at Media Center Ukraine.

“My message to the Ukrainian people is the following: The European Union is with you, and your place is with us. I hope that this message will stay with us for many years. Personally, I am very supportive of Ukraine’s EU membership,” the Vice President of the European Commission for Values and Transparency stated.

During her visit to Lviv, Věra Jourová had a meeting with students of the Ukrainian Catholic University and visited Nezlamny, the national rehabilitation center for victims of the russian aggression. She talked to patients, including a child who lost the mom due to russia’s acts.

“Everyone should see this horrible human tragedy. You realize that putin’s russia does not value human lives and needs a lecture on humanity. Unfortunately, this lecture of humanity cannot be done without weapons,” Věra Jourová emphasized.

According to Lviv’s mayor Andrii Sadovyi, the prospects for Lviv to become the 2025 European Youth Capital were also discussed during the visit of the European Commission Vice President. They also talked about hosting a Ukrainian concert in Brussels for the world to find out more about Ukraine and its fight.

“Today, the future of Europe and the world is decided, whether we will become a democracy or be crushed by totalitarianism. Today Ukraine and other unbroken soldiers fight for everyone, for every citizen of the free world,” Andrii Sadovyi stated.
