More than 90% of public utility users in Kherson have access to electricity, water, and gas supply, and less than 50% of regional settlements are connected to the grid — Oblast Council

The public utility services in Kherson are provided much better than in other regions. Yurii Sobolevskyi, First Deputy Head of Kherson Oblast Council, made this statement during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.

“More than 90% of consumers in Kherson now have access to electricity, water, and gas supply. The situation is a little more complicated regarding the heating. However, the majority of users are supplied. The state of affairs is much worse in the communities. Less than 50% of settlements are now connected to basic public services. This is a work in progress. Every week some settlements are being joined up to the grid. But, unfortunately, the rates of recovery are unsatisfactory. For now, it is impossible to increase this pace quickly because the resources of our regional energy companies are limited. We realize the existing challenges and the resource gap to work at a different pace,” Sobolevskyi said.
