“More than 140 rescuers and 25 pieces of equipment were involved in eliminating the consequences of enemy shelling in Kharkiv”, Yevhen Vasylenko

On Monday, Kharkiv Media Hub held a weekly briefing by the spokesman of the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region, Yevhen Vasylenko, who spoke about the operational situation that developed in the Kharkiv region between October 30 and November 6.

According to the Kharkiv Region Emergency Service spokesperson, rescuers of the Kharkiv Garrison made 160 trips under the “Alarm” signal last week, 13 of which were related to the hostilities in the region. In another 63 cases, employees of the State Emergency Service went to road accidents to help people and eliminate the consequences of enemy shelling.

One civilian was killed in Kharkiv Oblast last week due to russian shelling.

Between October 30 and November 6, sappers of the State Emergency Service defused more than 600 explosive objects.

During the past week, the representatives of the joint detachment of the State Emergency Service continued to inspect and, if necessary, demined the de-occupied and damaged territories of the Kharkiv region as a result of russian aggression. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, 34 pyrotechnic units and 72 units of special equipment have inspected more than four thousand hectares of territory, and about three thousand kilometers of power lines, and discovered and neutralized more than 82 thousand ammunition and other dangerous objects.

According to Yevhen Vasylenko, during this period there were four cases of detonation of unknown objects, as a result of which three civilians were injured.

The spokesman of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region noted that several fires and destructions related to enemy shelling occurred in the region over the past week. On the evening of October 31, russian terrorists attacked the village of Borova, Izyum district. The building of the fire station was damaged. Fortunately, the rescuers were not injured. During the night of November 2 to 3, the enemy launched massive UAV attacks on Kharkiv and the Kharkiv district of the region. As a result, there were five fires in two districts of the city, as well as the Kharkiv district of the region. Residential buildings, garages, utility buildings, cars, an administrative building of an educational institution, and a defunct workshop building burned at various addresses.

25 units of fire-rescue equipment and more than 140 personnel of the State Emergency Service were involved in eliminating the consequences of enemy shelling on the night of November 2-3.
