More mine clearance organizations to appear in Ukraine

Currently, 17 certified companies are certified to engage in demining activities in Ukraine. Another 29 are obtaining the permits and will be allowed to work in the fields in the coming months. However, by the spring of 2024, we expect a substantial increase of mine clearance organizations, as about 40 companies are currently preparing for certification.

Ihor Bezkaravainyi, Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine, made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.

“About 40 companies, according to our information, are currently preparing for certification by collecting the necessary documents, studying the experience, familiarizing themselves with procedures, importing equipment, etc. Therefore, in the spring, for the next season, we expect a significant increase in the number of anti-mine action operators that will not be government structures but private or international organizations that will engage in mine clearing efforts”, noted Ihor Bezkaravainyi.
