In March, border guards in the Lviv region did not allow 3,000 people to leave the country at checkpoints on the Ukrainian-Polish border

Border guards found 170 of them trying to leave Ukraine with fake documents. These are mainly fake certificates from the military medical commission and other documents that would give the right to cross the state border, said Ivan Baran, Lieutenant Colonel, Head of the Border Control Department of the 7th Border Guard Detachment, at a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine-Lviv.

“In March, border guards detected 68 cases of attempts to smuggle goods worth more than UAH 1 million into Ukraine. In addition, border guards stopped smuggling attempts of weapons and ammunition from Ukraine. In total, almost 200 smuggled units of ammunition were found. Now the police are dealing with these cases,” said Ivan Baran, Lieutenant Colonel, Head of the Border Control Department of the 7th Border Guard Detachment.

In March, almost a million people crossed the Ukrainian-Polish border. Ukrainians are returning home for the Easter holidays. Nowadays, the flow of people entering Ukraine at the border has slightly increased. Some of them will go abroad again. Therefore, border guards expect an increase in queues at the border to leave Ukraine in the coming days. You can also cross the border with Poland in the Lviv region at the following checkpoints: “Uhryniv – Dołhobyczów”, “Hrushiv – Budomierz”, and “Smilnytsia – Krosienko”.
