In just under 15 days, the adversary has unleashed an equivalent barrage of Shahed strikes on energy sites compared to the entirety of the prior heating season – Volodymyr Kudrytskyi
The onslaught on the nation’s energy infrastructure by hostile forces is nearly daily, marking a notable surge from the previous heating cycle.
Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, Chairman of the Board of NEC Ukrenergo, made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.
“The enemy’s relentless assaults occur nearly every day, despite the sporadic nature of previous massive missile attacks. Shahed strikes target energy facilities with alarming frequency, particularly in regions near the front lines. The resulting damage to numerous thermal and hydroelectric power plants disrupts the power system’s equilibrium, exacerbating concerns over stability. While the russians’ overarching strategy remains unchanged, they’ve incorporated tactics, employing combined strikes featuring various missile types alongside Shahed drones,” Kudrytskyi highlighted.
He underscored the heightened intensity of shelling targeting the nation’s energy facilities.
The intensity of shelling has surged, noted Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, comparing the current onslaught to past patterns. Whereas previous heating seasons saw sporadic, isolated attacks occurring once every one or two weeks, the current barrage is nearly continuous. The enemy’s utilization of Shahed attack drones has skyrocketed, matching or exceeding the entire previous heating season’s tally within just over a decade. Kudrytskyi highlighted a noticeable reliance on kamikaze drones, alongside a significant increase in missile strikes targeting Ukrenergo’s vital power infrastructure.
