“In Chernihiv, the Housing Stock Is Being Rebuilt; Camps of Module Homes Are Considered for Temporary Accommodation,” Chernihiv Oblast State Administration

The government has already allocated UAH 400 million to restore water and power supply networks. In addition, some funds were spent on rebuilding nursery schools.

Viacheslav Chaus, Head of Chernihiv Oblast State Administration, stated this at Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.

“The residential properties were affected the most. Chernihiv’s suburban villages are destroyed completely. In the city, many buildings have been destroyed completely, not to mention those destroyed partly. Thus, we are working with buildings in critical condition, drawing up a list of losses to start with reconstruction. Some buildings will have to be demolished for the lack of other options. Camps of modular buildings are considered a temporary option. They will only be used for temporary accommodation,” he said.

Chernihiv Oblast State Administration seeks donors and international institutions to provide targeted funding for housing reconstruction.
