Fuel import market flexible enough to handle any challenges – Serhii Kuiun
The established main import routes and an extensive logistics system are the key factors currently enabling the domestic fuel market to respond flexibly to any challenges.
Serhii Kuiun, fuel market expert made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine.
“Actually, the market is dealing with the supply really well, and we have two main import routes — Poland and Romania, respectively the western and southern corridors. This does not mean that supplies are coming from Romanian and Polish manufacturers. And this is not so much about the supply from these countries, instead we are talking about transit through them and about using their ports. And in turn, fuel from 15-20 countries of the world arrives at those ports, including from such places as the U.S., Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, India, etc. In addition to these corridors, we also have a very extensive logistics system, which in addition to the railway also includes fuel trucks. Our fleet of fuel trucks has increased by about 4 times since 2021. And all this allows us to respond very flexibly to any challenges,” he noted.
