“For russia’s system to begin to fail, protests must take place in several regions; for now only Dagestan is protesting,” Vadym Denysenko, Executive Director of the Ukrainian Institute for the Future

“Protest sentiments in russia are localized only in Dagestan and only within one nation, the Kumyks. In order for the system to begin to fail in a country like russia, it is necessary for protests to begin in 5 or more regions. Then, under certain circumstances, a breakdown may occur,” — he said.

Perhaps there will be protests in the neighboring region, in the capital of Nalchik. But it is still too early to say that the Caucasus is beginning to “break apart”, especially when taking into account Kadyrov’s statements against the actions in Dagestan.

As for the entire territory of the aggressor state, now we can only talk about individual events, but even in St. Petersburg, the situation isn’t difficult for the authorities, and there are no protest moods in Moscow at all. Historically, all revolutions in russia begin in the capital, but if the plan for Moscow is to mobilize only 16,000, then it will pass unnoticed for such a large city.

“Processes in russia, (such as) mobilization and “referendums,” accelerated after the SCO summit. This gives reason to believe that there have been changes in the country’s elites. As of now, putin ceased to be the leader who single-handedly made all decisions in russia. Now we are dealing with a “collective putin,” — the expert explained.

According to him, Patrushev and the Kovalchuk brothers are definitely a part of the decision-making team in the kremlin.
