F-16 training to require much less time due to experience of Ukrainian pilots — Yurii Ihnat
Ukrainian pilots were tested in the U.S. for their skills and level of training in order to understand how quickly they would be able to master modern multirole aircraft such as the F-16. According to the results, the training will take up less than previously stated six months.
Yurii Ihnat, Spokesperson of the Air Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.
“The Chief of Staff of the Air Force noted that even based on the first results of the testing, it can be concluded that it will take less time than previously stated. Earlier it was announced that training would last for approximately half a year. That’s because they saw that our guys are well-trained, they can master the fighters much faster. And in addition to being able to fly, they can also use the types of weapons that will be available,” Yurii Ihnat said.
