“Even with Zaporizhia NPP captured, Ukraine’s generation capacity is more than sufficient,” Director of Energy Industry Research Center

In Ukraine, the generation capacity for the production of electricity is more than sufficient, even with the Zaporizhia NPP captured by the occupiers. Oleksandr Kharchenko, Director at the Energy Industry Research (EIR) Center made this statement at a briefing at Media Center Ukraine.

“Nevertheless, we have enough generation capacity, and despite the attacks on them, we have no problems with generation,” — Kharchenko said.

Also, according to him, the russians have now focused their attacks on the power supply lines.

“It is clear that the people, who are behind their planning, know well how the power grid, lines, and electrical substations work. The targets of the attack are clear. What is most important here? Indeed, bypass schemes are being built on the go, lines are being built to help bypass the damaged areas,” — Oleksandr Kharchenko added.

The Director of EIR Center also noted that the energy grid in Ukraine will be completely rebuilt only after the war ends.
