Energy management is a must for communities and enterprises – Anna Zamazeeva on energy efficiency programs conditions
Budget programs for households, businesses, and communities are envisaged to implement energy efficiency improvement measures. However, there are a few conditions. For example, mandatory energy management practices have to become default obligations in large enterprises and territorial communities.
Anna Zamazeeva, Head of the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine (SAEE), made the relevant announcement at a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.
“Regarding energy efficiency, it is now envisaged that the State Fund for Decarbonization and Energy-Efficient Transformation allocations will be directed specifically to energy efficiency measures to be implemented. There are several budget programs that will inject additional funding into efficiency by people taking energy efficiency actions in their buildings and households. The share of this budget that will be allocated to business as a main issue will also be determined. Since it is a business that fills this budget item, that is, for them to introduce energy efficiency measures in production facilities, and most importantly, for municipalities, our territorial communities, which should also adopt an energy efficiency package of measures in their municipal entities,” she explained.
Ms. Zamazeeva also emphasized the critical condition of mandatory energy management practices in communities and enterprises.
“Energy management practices are imperative for every territorial community or a large enterprise applying for such assistance and budgetary funding. The set of efficiency policy frameworks should be approached in a comprehensive manner, not as a component,” she said.
In addition, the Head of the State Agency emphasized that the National Decarbonization Platform will also contribute to the implementation of energy efficiency actions implementation.
“And, accordingly, we have created the National Decarbonization Platform, where we are now bringing together all the world’s energy-efficient equipment manufacturers to offer to lease, loan, at reduced interest rates these resources and create the launch pad for energy-efficient measures in production facilities and communities on unique conditions in Ukraine,” she said.
Zamazeeva emphasized that the necessary work will be done “to fulfill the National Energy Efficiency Action Plan until 2030 and even exceed the announced targets.”
