Younous Omarjee, Chair of the Committee for Regional Development of The European Parliament, made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.
According to him, representatives of the European Parliament have come to Ukraine to point out the need to involve all authorities at all levels. And one of the biggest conditions for the use of this aid would be directing a certain part to the development of local communities and local self-government with the active participation of the communities themselves. And the MEPs have come to make sure that it will happen, and it can be achieved in the near future, he said.
At the same time, Younous Omarjee added that representatives of the European Parliament are ready to help Ukraine in this matter, as they have the necessary capabilities, expertise and knowledge.
