Denys Marchuk on temporary sea corridors: Ukraine’s Armed Forces have created parity in the Black Sea region
As of today, five ships of the industrial group have used the temporary shipping channels in the Black Sea, and the second loaded with food products is already preparing to leave. Thanks to the Armed Forces of Ukraine gains, which created a certain parity in the Black Sea made this possible. At the same time, this is a good omen for international partners.
It was emphasized by Denys Marchuk, Deputy Chairman of the Ukrainian Agrarian Council, during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.
“There is a question of how to make this channel safer in terms of the trade vessels that stay on the territory of Ukraine. Because Russia will probably not resort to attacks and provocations from the Black Sea. Again, this is thanks to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which managed to create a certain parity in the Black Sea, preventing Russia from feeling like a full-fledged master,” he said and added that the issue of protecting the ports of Big Odesa metropolitan area and the Danube from enemy bombardment is currently being addressed.
At the same time, Denis Marchuk expressed hope that the next ships will be chartered, which will have a positive impact on the export of products.
“We won’t be able to use the ports of Big Odesa 100%, but at least 30% would be a successful option. And monthly exports of 1-1.5 million tons would be a very good indicator for the overall destinations by river ports and land routes. And if we exported about 5 million tons every month, it would be a very good performance,” he added.
