Critical infrastructure of Odesa and its district to completely switch to power generators by end of week — Oblast Military Administration

After large-scale accidents in the electrical grid, the authorities decided to power the critical infrastructure of Odesa and its region with generators. Serhii Bratchuk, Head of the Public Council under the Odesa Oblast State Administration, Spokesman of the Head of Oblast Military Administration, made this statement at a briefing at Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.

“A decision was made at the level of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the Ministry of Energy, the Oblast Military Administration, the State Emergency Service and energy companies of the region that we will transfer critical infrastructure – and this process is already underway – to alternative power sources, that is, to generators. After that, we will be able to use a certain part of the capacity to supply it to the households. Only then will it be possible to introduce the schedule of “electricity for two hours, no electricity for eight” by the end of the week, and then, perhaps, the schedules will allow for a more comfortable life for Odesa residents. We are talking about the fact that at the end of this week, the people of Odesa will feel the situation improve. I would not want to get ahead of myself, because there is a high probability of missile strikes. I hope that we will be able to resolve these issues by the end of the week,” — Bratchuk said.
